Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the edge banding glue applicator used for in woodworking?
A: The edge banding glue applicator is used to spread adhesive evenly along the edges of boards such as plywood, MDF, or particle board before applying edge banding tape or veneer. The adjustable glue limiter helps control the width and thickness of the glue layer, ensuring a clean and professional finish.
Q: Is this glue applicator compatible with all types of woodworking glue?
A: This applicator is designed to work with standard water-based PVA and woodworking glues commonly used for edge banding. It is not intended for use with hot-melt adhesives or industrial-grade solvent-based glues. Always ensure the glue you are using is compatible with plastic applicator tools.
Q: How do I adjust the glue limiter on this tool?
A: The glue limiter can be adjusted by sliding or repositioning the limiting component to your desired width before applying glue. This allows you to customize the coverage area to suit different board thicknesses and edge banding widths for a neat, controlled application every time.
Q: How do I clean the glue applicator after use?
A: Rinse the applicator with warm water immediately after use before the glue dries. The smooth plastic surfaces make cleanup quick and easy. Avoid leaving glue to cure on the tool, as dried adhesive may be harder to remove.
