Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What size shade sail is this sun shade sail hardware kit compatible with?

A: This hardware kit is designed for square and rectangle shade sails. The 15M of 3mm coated wire rope, combined with the four M5 turnbuckles and matching hardware, provides enough material to rig a standard square or rectangular shade sail on a typical residential pergola, patio, or pool area.

Q: Do I need special tools to install the 3mm coated wire rope?

A: Yes — a strong wire cutter is needed to cut the 3mm coated steel cable to length. For the aluminum crimping loops, a hydraulic crimping tool is recommended (though not required) to achieve the most secure and professional cable termination. The M5 turnbuckles can be tightened by hand or with standard pliers.

Q: Is this hardware kit suitable for permanent outdoor installation in wet or coastal climates?

A: Absolutely. All metal components are made from 304 stainless steel, which offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion in outdoor environments including rainy seasons. The wire rope also features a PVC coating for added protection against the elements, making it a durable long-term solution for outdoor shade sail installations.
