Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What fish species is this soft swimbait best suited for?

A: The B&U Soft Minnow Swimbait is highly effective for saltwater species like sea bass, snook, and redfish, as well as freshwater species including largemouth bass, pike, zander, and trout. The lifelike minnow profile and paddle-tail action trigger predatory instincts across a wide range of species.

Q: Which weight should I choose for saltwater beach or boat fishing?

A: For beach casting or boat fishing in open water where longer casts and deeper presentation are needed, the 28g or 33g options are ideal. For closer-range fishing in shallower water — such as estuaries, rivers, or rock pools — the 14g or 18g options offer a more natural, slower sink rate. The 21g is a versatile all-rounder for mixed conditions.

Q: Is this lure suitable for both saltwater and freshwater use?

A: Yes! The B&U Soft Tail Swimbait is designed to perform in both saltwater and freshwater environments. The materials and hook are corrosion-resistant enough to handle regular saltwater exposure, making it a great dual-purpose lure for any angler.

Q: How should I rig and retrieve this swimbait?

A: This lure comes pre-rigged with a jig head hook, so it's ready to fish right out of the pack. Simply tie it to your leader or mainline and use a steady retrieve, a slow roll near the bottom, or a lift-and-drop jigging motion. Vary your retrieve speed until you find what the fish prefer on any given day.
