Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What fish species can I target with the B&U Floating Minnow saltwater lure?
A: This floating minnow hard bait is designed for a wide range of predatory species including Tuna, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), Bass, Pike, and Zander. It performs well in both saltwater environments (ocean beach, boat, and rock fishing) and freshwater settings like lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and ponds.
Q: What makes the long casting system on this lure different?
A: The B&U long casting system uses an internal weight transfer mechanism that shifts the lure's center of gravity during the cast for maximum aerodynamic distance. Once the lure hits the water, the weight repositions to activate the natural swimming action that attracts fish.
Q: Are the treble hooks included and suitable for saltwater use?
A: Yes — the lure comes pre-rigged with sharp treble hooks. The hardware used throughout the lure is corrosion-resistant, making it suitable for repeated saltwater use. It is recommended to rinse the lure with fresh water after each saltwater session to extend its lifespan.
Q: Is this lure floating or sinking?
A: This is a floating minnow lure, designed to sit at or just below the surface. Its action mimics a struggling baitfish, which is highly effective for triggering surface and near-surface strikes from predatory game fish.
