Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What fish species is the B&U 12cm Saltwater Sinking Minnow Lure best suited for?
A: This sinking minnow jerkbait is purpose-built for saltwater predators, particularly sea bass, striped bass (striper), and mackerel. Its 12cm profile mimics the baitfish these species actively hunt, making it highly effective in both coastal and open-water environments.
Q: What makes BKK hooks a good choice for saltwater fishing?
A: BKK hooks are renowned for their exceptional sharpness and corrosion resistance — two critical qualities for saltwater use. They maintain their edge even after repeated exposure to salt and moisture, ensuring reliable hooksets on powerful strikes from hard-fighting ocean fish.
Q: Can this lure be used in freshwater as well as saltwater?
A: Absolutely. While optimized for saltwater performance, the B&U 12cm Sinking Minnow Jerkbait works equally well in freshwater settings including lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and ponds — making it a highly versatile addition to any angler's tackle box.
Q: How should I retrieve this sinking minnow lure for best results?
A: A jerk-pause retrieve works exceptionally well — cast, let the lure sink to the desired depth, then use sharp rod twitches with brief pauses to mimic an injured baitfish. This erratic action is highly effective at triggering reaction strikes from sea bass, stripers, and mackerel.
