Diymore Loop Antenna Module – Broadband SW & AM Medium Wave
Diymore Loop Antenna Module – Broadband, Shortwave & AM Medium Wave Reception
Upgrade your radio listening setup with the Diymore Donut Loop Antenna Module Set. Available in three configurations — Broadband (Black), Shortwave (Blue), and AM Medium Wave (Red) — these compact ring antennas deliver excellent omnidirectional reception across a wide spectrum of frequencies. Whether you're a hobbyist, a radio enthusiast, or a maker working with SDR setups, these antennas are built for performance in a surprisingly small footprint.
Made in Mainland China.
Three Antenna Variants — One Powerful Kit
- Black – Broadband Receiving Antenna: Covers 10kHz–180MHz with a built-in low-impedance converter. No tuning required — works directly across low and high frequencies without swapping antennas. Highly compatible and recommended for use with Quansheng UV-K5/K6 walkie-talkies and similar SDR receivers.
- Blue – SW Shortwave Antenna: Tuned for 4MHz–24MHz shortwave reception. A narrowband, high-impedance (Hi-Z) resonant antenna. Must be connected to the Hi-Z input port of compatible receivers such as the Malachite DSP.
- Red – AM Medium Wave Antenna: Covers 500kHz–2000kHz for AM medium wave bands. Also a high-impedance (Hi-Z) resonant antenna requiring connection to the dedicated Hi-Z antenna input. Compact, tunable, and ideal for AM broadcast reception.
Key Features
- 🔵 Omnidirectional Reception: The donut/ring loop design delivers consistent, uniform signal pickup in all horizontal directions — no need to constantly reposition your antenna.
- 📡 Broadband & Narrowband Options: Choose the broadband model for no-fuss wideband coverage, or the SW/AM resonant models for optimised narrowband performance.
- 📦 Space-Efficient Design: At just 110 × 100mm, these antennas take up a fraction of the space of conventional long-wire antennas — perfect for desktop setups or portable use.
- 🔧 Easy Installation: SMA male connector on all models. Variable capacitance tuning on SW/AM models for fine-tuning reception to your target frequency.
- ⚡ Low Power Consumption: Designed for efficient, low-power operation suitable for battery-powered and portable receivers.
Specifications at a Glance
| Model | Colour | Frequency Range | Connector | Dimensions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Broadband | Black | 10kHz – 180MHz | SMA Male | 110 × 100 × 12mm |
| Shortwave | Blue | 4MHz – 24MHz | SMA Male | 110 × 100 × 20mm |
| AM Medium Wave | Red | 500kHz – 2000kHz | SMA Male | 110 × 100 × 20mm |
Important Compatibility Note
The Blue (SW) and Red (AM) loop antennas are narrowband high-impedance (Hi-Z) resonant antennas. They must be connected to the Hi-Z antenna input port on your receiver (e.g. Malachite DSP). Connecting to a standard 50Ω input will cause impedance mismatch, detuning, and loss of function. The Black broadband antenna includes a built-in low-impedance converter and does not require a Hi-Z port.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between the broadband black loop antenna and the SW/AM narrowband loop antennas?
A: The black broadband loop antenna covers a wide frequency range of 10kHz–180MHz and features a built-in low-impedance converter, so it requires no tuning and works across all bands without swapping. The blue (SW) and red (AM) antennas are narrowband high-impedance (Hi-Z) resonant antennas optimised for specific frequency ranges (4–24MHz and 500–2000kHz respectively) and must be connected to a Hi-Z input port for proper operation.
Q: Which receivers are compatible with the Diymore loop antenna modules?
A: The SW and AM loop antennas are designed for use with the Malachite DSP receiver via its Hi-Z high-impedance input port. The broadband black antenna is compatible with a wide range of SDR receivers and is particularly recommended for use with Quansheng UV-K5/K6 walkie-talkies and similar devices with standard SMA connectors.
Q: Do I need to tune the loop antennas before use?
A: The broadband black antenna requires no tuning — simply connect and receive across the full 10kHz–180MHz range. The blue (SW) and red (AM) antennas feature variable capacitance tuning, allowing you to adjust the resonant frequency to optimise reception on your target frequency within their respective bands.
Q: What connector type do these loop antennas use?
A: All three antenna variants use an SMA male connector (internal pin, internal thread), making them easy to connect to most modern SDR receivers, amateur radio equipment, and compatible walkie-talkies that accept SMA connections.
