Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What fish species is the B&U 163mm saltwater minnow lure best suited for?
A: This large floating minnow lure is primarily designed for sea bass and other large saltwater predators such as snook, striped bass, and bluefish. Its 163mm profile and lifelike action also make it effective for big freshwater species like pike and large trout in lakes and reservoirs.
Q: Is this minnow lure suitable for both boat fishing and shore/beach fishing?
A: Absolutely. The B&U 163mm minnow lure's long-casting design and floating action make it highly versatile — perfect for ocean boat fishing, ocean beach fishing, ocean rock fishing, and even freshwater environments like rivers, ponds, and reservoirs.
Q: Are the treble hooks included, and are they corrosion-resistant for saltwater use?
A: Yes, the lure comes pre-rigged with treble hooks. The hooks are built with corrosion resistance in mind, making them suitable for repeated use in saltwater conditions. It's always a good practice to rinse your lure with fresh water after saltwater sessions to maximize the lifespan of the hooks and hardware.
Q: What is the action of this lure — sinking or floating?
A: This is a floating minnow lure. It sits on or just below the surface at rest and produces a realistic wobbling swimming action on retrieve, mimicking a fleeing or injured baitfish to trigger strikes from predatory fish.
